What is your favorite Florida beach and why?

NeckLover asked:

My favorite Florida beach is Daytona Beach. Something about its wide beaches, driving on the beach, the sounds of the waves, the shear beauty of it all. What’s your favorite Florida beach?

My favorite beach? Atlantic Beach in Jacksonville, Florida! The waves are rockin’, they are never crowded (even in the middle of the summer!), and its so easy to walk right off the beach and into a bar…

How would I know? My whole family (all 12 great-grandparents and their children) has a beach house that you can literally jump the fence (or just walk out the gate haha) and your on Atlantic Beach! I go there every summer. 3

    I love it!

I grew up around Daytona Beach and thought it was great until I moved to NW FL. I think the beaches from South Walton to Pensacola are the best, they have the whitest sand in the world.

I have never been either. That Atlantic Beach sounds like a place to get invited to though……
But for some reason I have always thought I would go to Venice. A lot quieter on the gulf side.
    Happy New Year!

Naples or Marco Island. Been there many times and it’s
    not too crowded.
And they have the most beautiful sunsets
    that I have ever seen.

Fort Desoto is the undisputed winner. Don’t be afraid to wade out to one of the sandy islands if you want some privacy.

If you like to snorkel the only place I’ve found on the Gulf Coast is Point O Rocks on the South tip of Sarasota. The beautiful sand on the other beaches makes the water too cloudy to see.
