Is it safe to fly to Pensacola, Florida NAS?

I want to go visit my fiance up in Pensacola and I know that tropical storm Hanna is going to hit the side of Florida but I see that it doesn’t hit Pensacola. Would this weekend be a good time to go? I would fly into Pensacola Regional Airport.

Long gone by then. (Check the tracking map at NOAA)

Have a lovely trip. (see ya next fall ..sorry pun).

FYI: Normally the worst weather (rain)..is on the East side.

It would be easier than going by train, which never restarted after Katrina. If there is a storm then the flight would be suspended or diverted. They don’t like to take risks with air travel.

You’ll be fine during Hanna. Hurricane Ike however, may become a problem around the 12th or 13th. Pensacola is not going to really be affected by Hanna at all. You can pretty much call this number at any time to find out the status of the airport and other closings if a storm is approaching. It’s our information line for various emergencies, etc.
