In our whole life My husband, my son and I never been in FLA before.
How do I make a plan going to FLA to vacation? I would like to drive better than going on airplane. Is there any cheaper hotel in FLA? I want to go disney world with my son and my husband. How much should I save money for vacation FLA? Please help. Thanks!
If I go to airplane I don’t have passport? Do I have to get passport if I am going to FLA?

with gas prices as they are now, i think it’d be wiser to fly round trip because it’s a lot cheaper and with vacations to Florida i’m sure you could get some good airfare.
the drive to florida is a painful one. i live about a day’s drive north of florida and it sure is long and boring. if your son is a little one, it’d be a lot more convenient and a time saver just to pay about a hundred bucks to fly to and fro.
however, if you live in georgia or somewhere close, just drive =)
and for hotels it is a pretty decent cost for chain hotels such as best western and holiday inn. however, if you are interested in staying at a disney hotel, the price is undoubtedly higher, which you can find out on their websites.
i would save enough money for airfare/gas, hotel, rented car if you fly, and money for the disney parks along with some extra spending money. have fun!
Go to AAA , you can get some great deals to come here to Florida !
You will spend some money especially on food and park tickets , and its extremely hot this time of year
ok first if you want to drive you can stay in davenport which is 15 minutes fro disney world and orlando.
there are some great little hotels there it is just off the interstate 4 and on highway 27. they have 3 hotels right as you get off the exit.
bestwestern
holiday inn express
super 8
i’ve stayed in them all they are all clean and decent. they range in price from $35-$60 per night. they all have a pool and there are great restaurants right there
bob evans
waffle house
burger king
mcdonalds
there is also a 7-11 and a couple gas stations.
and a great t-shirt shop just a minute or two up the road with lots of disney clothes, towels, souveniers.
if you are flying you would have to rent a car to stay at a cheaper hotel. so i recommend if you end up flying that you just get a vacation package thru disney and stay on their property.
to see ticket prices click on this link
to check out how much a vaction package is click on this link and enter your info like dates you’re going, number of guests, and it will figure out the price for the package and you can tweek the number of tickets, which hotel you want and whether you want dining or not. i recomend getting the dining plan.
if you belong to AAA you can go there and they will book it for you. but i would go to the above links just as a reference to see how much you will be spending. i can’t tell you how much you will spend cuz its different for every family depending on what vacation package you choose.
i can tell you i would allow $125 per person for buying souveniers during you stay.
have fun!
PS. you don’t need a passport. you only need a passport if you are flying out of the country. you do not need a passport for demestic (in the usa) flights.
if you live in the u.s a you don’t need a passport, I.m not sure where your coming from but seeing you mentioned driving you must be near here.
Go to one of the travel websites, expedia hotels.com travelocity etc. and look up room rates for disney, at times of the year and best is late oct. ealry dec. and most of jan is best time to find good rates on hotels and not too corwded either or too hot.
disney is about 70.00 per night and if you go to disneyworld.com you can find 3 and 4 day passes that are at a better rate and they also have hotels there that you can just leave your car and rice the buses to all the parks at no charge, their cheapest hotels right in disney are the all stars and sports room, small but very clean and easy to hop a bus, they run from about 80.00 per night and have many others that run up to 400.00 a night depending on how much you want to spend, so if want, so if wanting a less costly vacation and stay right on disney property than try the sports hotels and use disney web site to get more than 1 day passes.
to spend 1 week there and go to 3 parks plus a water park your looking at 600.00 for hotel and 500.oo for parks and water park is like 49.00 so that would be 150.00 for that plus food , if driving be sure to bring cooler as that will cut down on food costs.
Mommy–you’ll find a lot of your Disney World questions answered at
Since you want to drive, I’m assuming that you are already in the US. As such, you won’t need a passport. I use to book all of my travel. They have great prices, special Disney deals (click on the Vacation tab at the top of the page and look for Tickets and Attractions in the middle of the page. Finally, scroll down to and click on Orlando Florida and you will see all kinds of attractions, including Disney)
This site also has terrific deals on hotels and flights. But I’ve found that all of their prices are front loaded. So, at first blush they sometimes appear to be more expensive, but really they are less, it’s just that when you book through Expedia, and those other guys, they don’t show you the full price until the end.
