Florida kids holiday – is Kissimee the best area to stay in for all the attractions?

Hi, I don’t drive, so am worried about booking this hotel in Kissimee in case it is too far from all the major kids attractions Sea World, Universal, Disney, etc.
Any advice?
Thanks.

if you stay on Disney property you have access to buses that take you all over ALL the Disney properties. Plus boats, horse drawn carriages, and the monorails. (which had an accident this morning and are off for a few days.)
No, Kissimmee is really big so it depends where you are staying. If you are by Orlando or Lake Buena Vista. It is close to the main highways that takes you to all of the parks.
The closest would be Disney-Maybe a 5-10 minute drive.
Then Sea World- about a 10-15 drive.
Universal- about a 10-15 drive.
Like I said, it depends where you are.
There may be a shuttle from the hotel that you are staying at.
But there are buses called Lynx, they kinda **** but I’m not sure about the tourist areas since I live deep in Kissimmee.
If you don’t drive I would not stay in Kissimmee area.
It is possible to ride a Shuttle from your Hotel to the Theme Parks. But they are on a limited schedule and may not suit your touring plans. Some Shuttles serve more than one hotel ~ so they can get crowded and make multiple stops.
You can also call for a Taxi or Ride the Lynx Bus if you stay in Kissimmee area.
A lot depends on which parks you want to see. WDW will take a minimum of 3 – 4 days to visit and see each Theme Park. If you plan to mostly do WDW ~ stay onsite or in Downtown WDW area. Staying at WDW Complex adds extra perks. IF you fly into Orlando (MCO) WDW’s Magical Express will transport you to your Resort ~ and back to MCO ~ no charge.
All the transportation about WDW Complex are handled by bus or boat ~ you just hop on and don’t worry about driving anywhere.
Also you will be able to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours ~ you can enter theme parks early or stay late.
If you decide that the Value Resort is priced for you ~ I suggest Pop Century.
We love the Moderate Resort Port Orleans Riverside (includes boat transport to DTD) ~ but all the Moderates are very nice. You can’t go wrong with any Moderate. Another Moderate option is a Cabin at Fort Wilderness ~ cabins have efficiency kitchen and more room for Kids.
Reviews, Photos, Amenities, Locations, etc of area Hotels. This includes the WDW Resorts and also Downtown Disney area hotels:
A friend and her BF told me that an excellent hotel in DTD area is Radisson Hotel Orlando-Lake Buena Vista. They are staying a week and their room is $75 per night:
The most efficient way to get from WDW to other Parks would be on the Mears Shuttle bus. They make scheduled runs every day from the Disney resorts to the other area attractions (Universal, Sea World, etc). The concierge at your WDW Resort can help you make arrangements.
My family always stays in Kissimmee during our Florida holidays. However, if you don’t drive, you may have a difficult time getting to the parks.
Some parks offer shuttles – most offer Disney, some Universal and Seaworld, depending on how far away you are.
Like TuShu said, I would stay on Disney property, and get someone at the front desk to help you book a shuttle to go to the other parks. You get tons of perks by staying on property.
