Uncle Pennybags asked:
So we know there is a big fiaso about the Democrat party not seating the Florida delegates as punishment for moving up their primary.
So we know there is a big fiaso about the Democrat party not seating the Florida delegates as punishment for moving up their primary.
So what I want to know is, what brainiac is responsible for this? Was it the Secretary of State’s idea? The Florida state legislature? The Florida Democrat Party?

A lot of people but mainly the FL legislature, which is controlled by Republicans.
We should have just taken half the delegates away, the same as the GOP did.
Obama supporters in the DNCC probably screwed things up to give him momentum, Dumb.
The people of FL and MI, are not naughty school children, they are voters who want a vote like everyone else.
The Republican Florida State legislature . . . singed into law by the Governor who is also a Republican.
It is a shame H.Dean has no backbone to stick with what he said at the time, that those delegates wouldn’t count
Dean and Pelosi might be the worst Dem leaders ever….so bad I am starting to lean toward McCain
It was the Republican legislature and the Republican governor who decided to move it up.
The Florida House passed (118-0) and sent to the governor a plan to move the state’s 2008 presidential primary to Jan. 29, bypassing a dozen other states that have set their primaries to Feb. 5.
The democratic leaders voting for HRC are trying to say it was the Republicans fault that the primary was moved but as you can see…
NONE OF THEM VOTED AGAINST IT.
If they HAD voted NO, I would argue that they were forced to move the primary and they shouldnt be penalized.
But they CHOSE to do it. So they have to DEAL with it.
Bill Clinton, he has a lot more power than we can know of, it was his persuasiveness that moved both Mich and Florida’s primary, before the new kid obama could get his name on the ballot!
Republicans did not do this on their own. It was a Democrat Florida State Senator, not a Republican, who introduced the bill calling for the early primary. Not only that, but every single Democrat in the Florida Senate voted in favor of moving the primaries. The Democrats put the legislation on the table – and the Democrats hammered it through. The attitude of the Republicans in charge at the time was It was a Democrats idea, the rest support it, they can have their change. Look it up!
